2008 Elections
Dear Fellow FSOMA Members:
FSOMA’s 2008 Election is swiftly coming upon us!
As a past Board Member I have gained a deep respect for all the work that is accomplished by the Board, not only at the Board Meetings but what goes into keeping the Association running on tract during the entire year.
We have an extremely healthy association and have many great programs supporting and advancing our profession.
As our profession and FSOMA continue to grow, it is imperative that we continue to keep the strength, drive, dedication, and talent that characterize this Association.
FSOMA needs YOU to become active in this endeavor! Everything we have gained can be lost without a dedicated and competent Board.
As you read through the accompanying Nominations/Elections information, please realize that it is YOUR responsibility to nominate YOUR Board, whether you nominate another member OR yourself! Self-Nominations are encouraged!
Six (6) documents pertain to the Nominations/Election process. They are all available here on the website.
• The first includes some basic information, positions to be filled, the various rules and deadlines.
• The second is the form to be used to nominate someone, or yourself. It includes where and how to submit it. Note: They are not submitted to the FSOMA office.
• The third is an overview of all aspects of the Board of Directors and the rules in the By-Laws for composition, qualifications, etc.
• The fourth is Article VIII of the FSOMA ByLaws. It contains all information pertaining to the Rules, Duties and responsibilities of FSOMA Board members. Know that several of the Duties of the Secretary and Treasurer are now done by the Executive Director, but this will give you an idea of the roles and responsibility of each.
• The fifth is the Acceptance Form used by people that have been Nominated.
• The sixth is the form used by people that have been accepted by the Nominating Committee, and have become “Candidates”. This indicates to them the information required in order to place them on the written Ballots that are mailed to members for mail-in voting purposes.Please print and review them.
